Spring Group plc awarded master vendor contract by Orange UK
for the provision of technical recruitment
Spring Group plc (SRG.L), the recruitment, workforce management and training
company, announces that it has been named as Master Vendor to Orange UK, the
UK's most popular mobile network, for the provision of its technical
recruitment.
hy-phen, the workforce management branded service from Spring, will deliver the
Master Vendor services to Orange for contract and permanent technical staffing
requirements in the UK.
Employing over 2000 technical staff in the UK alone, Orange was looking to
support its technical recruitment with an expert and experienced partner with
the resource to deal with large-scale skills resourcing.
Spring was selected from a supplier selection process which embraced over 40
organisations and which involved the resourcing, procurement, human resource and
technical teams at Orange. Spring has deployed a dedicated on-site team of
hy-phen Managed Services specialists to manage aspects of the IT contingent
workforce staffing operation. The supply-chain of service-providers has been
selected following a comprehensive evaluation and the service is focused to
deliver value in the form of process improvements and cost savings from the
outset.
The Orange brand holds a significant and strong presence throughout the UK and
Spring will be aiming to assist Orange in reflecting this strength in the
Employer Brand. The focus by Spring on the quality and cultural fit of new
staff, both contractors or permanent, is a key area of importance for Orange.
Alex Oakley, Head of Resourcing, Orange UK said of the deal: "Spring was
selected because of their track record and because we believe that they are the
best cultural fit for Orange, having clearly demonstrated their understanding of
our business needs. The hy-phen Managed Service from Spring brings greater
emphasis on cost, quality and time, and we can now focus our efforts on the
building of one supplier relationship in IT staffing. This will ensure that we
are optimising the time of our own staff and ensure that technical recruitment
is world-class."
Richard Barfield, Chief Executive Officer of Spring Group plc, said: "Following
our significant investment in the telecoms market in recent years, the
commitment from Orange to our hy-phen Managed Services is good news and supports
our continued investment in this technology sector."
