PARIS--French ophthalmic lens maker Essilor International SA (EI.FR) reported Thursday a 14.5% jump in third-quarter revenue helped by a weaker euro and a strong North American business.

Revenue rose to 1.62 billion euros ($1.84 billion) in the three months ended September from EUR1.42 billion a year ago.

The company, whose main brands include Varilux, Crizal, and Foster Gran, said in a statement that it was confident it could meet its financial targets for 2015 and continue "to move boldly forward" in 2016.
