Phillips 66 (PSX) reported a tripped compressor that resulted in flaring of gas emissions at its Sweeny refinery in Texas.

"A compressor tripped offline in Unit 29.2 (a delayed coker unit), resulting in flaring," the refinery said in a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. "Operations personnel checked the gas compressor and the compressor was restarted within 70 minutes."

The emissions, which included more than 2,800 pounds of sulfur dioxide, began late Wednesday and ended Thursday, the company said.

The 247,000-barrel-a-day Sweeny refinery is in Old Ocean, southwest of Houston.
