Phillips 66 (PSX) said it was shutting down a regenerative thermal oxidizer Wednesday at its Sweeny refinery in Texas so that it could fix a faulty motor.

"The RTO will be shut down starting at 11:00 a.m. as a result of high vibrations in the air blower motor, which necessitated the shutdown of the RTO," the refinery said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. "The repairs to the motor will be coordinated and accomplished in a safe and timely manner."

It said the maintenance work was scheduled to end late Thursday evening.

The 247,000-barrel-a-day refinery is located in Old Ocean, 65 miles southwest of Houston.
