Eli Lilly & Co. said Wednesday that the U.S. government has
purchased 650,000 additional doses of its Bamlanivimab drug in the
treatment of Covid-19 for $812.5 million.
The Indianapolis-based company said doses will be delivered
through Jan. 31, with at least 350,000 of the additional doses to
be delivered in December.
Bamlanivimab recently received emergency-use authorization for
the treatment of mild-to-moderate Covid-19 in patients at risk of
it progressing to severe.
The order brings the total purchase by the U.S. government to
950,000 doses, the company said.
