NORTHBROOK, Ill., Sept. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of
its ongoing commitment to help communities recover following a
disaster, Allstate and The Allstate Foundation will now commit
$3 million to assist people affected
by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, as well as potential future
disasters.
The new fund doubles Allstate's original investment to support
Hurricane Harvey recovery, and includes:
- Matching Contributions – The Allstate Foundation will
increase the cap on matching employee and agency force donations to
American Red Cross and Feeding America on a dollar-for-dollar basis
from $250,000 to $500,000.
- Youth Empowerment – Students involved in WE Schools
programs will have their fundraising activities matched on a
dollar-for-dollar basis up to $250,000 to now help victims of both Hurricane
Harvey and Hurricane Irma.
- Public Education – "Good Hands Education Center"
sessions in Texas and Florida will provide information to the
general public about how to navigate insurance claims and
government support programs.
- Nonprofit Organizations – The Allstate Foundation will
expand its partnerships with Allstate agencies in impacted areas to
make grants directly to local social-service organizations,
particularly in the most heavily affected communities.
