The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the world's largest IT
and electronics trade show held annually in Las Vegas, USA, where
the latest technology trends and innovative products are introduced
to the world.
The CES Innovation Awards are presented annually by the Consumer
Technology Association (CTA), the organizer of CES, to recognize
innovative and technologically advanced products, and winners are
selected in 33 categories based on a comprehensive evaluation of
product design, functionality, ease of use, and marketability. The
fact that NEWJAK won in two categories is considered to be an
achievement that proves the technological innovation and global
competitiveness of Jeollanam-do companies.
The winning product, X-RUNNER, is a headset-free, advanced XR
platform that combines RDW (Redirected Walking) and CAVE
telepresence technology to allow users to move freely in virtual
space and experience an immersive, tangible Metaverse without the
need for a head-mounted display (HMD). This innovative solution can
be installed anywhere, indoors or outdoors, and can be applied to a
variety of industries, including construction, defense, and
education.
At CES 2025, Jeollanam-do will operate a pavilion to help the
province's small and medium-sized enterprises go global, and
provides comprehensive support to promising companies, including
NEWJAK, by advising on innovation awards and helping them prepare
for the show. As a result, Jeollanam-do is achieving results in
publicizing the global competitiveness of its technology
industry.
"We won the Innovation Award thanks to the support of
Jeollanam-do," said Haehyun Jung, CEO of NEWJAK. "We will continue
to cooperate with Jeollanam-do to further grow in the global
market."
"Through CES, we are promoting Jeollanam-do's excellent
technology and investment attractiveness to the world," said Kim
Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do. "We will continue to
participate in various international exhibitions to help innovative
companies in the province expand overseas and strengthen the
competitiveness of the ICT industry in Jeollanam-do."
Jeollanam-do plans to participate in CES 2025 by sending 15
innovative companies from the province to actively support
companies to enter the global market and develop overseas sales
channels.
