Morgan Sindall secures position on GBP1.2 billion Gatwick
framework
Morgan Sindall Group plc, the construction and regeneration
group, today announces that Morgan Sindall, its construction and
infrastructure division, has been appointed on the GBP1.2bn
framework programme of upgrades and improvements for Gatwick
Airport.
Morgan Sindall will compete with nine other contractors for the
individual schemes during the four-year framework. The programme
includes a broad range of major projects at the airport designed to
improve the passenger experience through upgraded terminal
facilities, new aircraft piers and modernised baggage systems as
well as new retail, security and immigration areas.
Morgan Sindall secured a position on the major projects
framework which Gatwick's owner, Global Infrastructure Partners,
inherited when it acquired the airport in 2009, and is presently
on-site delivering the GBP50 million Gatwick North Terminal
extension.
