BlueFire Drilling Technology Produces Superior Results

BlueFire Equipment Corporation (OTCQB: BLFR) announced today
that recent analysis of data from drilling results in Garvin
County, Oklahoma, reveals its proprietary polycrystalline diamond
cutter (PDC) drill bit outperforms competitive equipment.
According to drilling data, BlueFire’s drill bit technology has
the ability to save operators millions of dollars while reducing
drilling time by more than 20% depending on the formation type.
The drilling data reveals that on a recent well in Oklahoma,
BlueFire drilled to a Total Depth (TD) of 7,560 feet with an
average rate of penetration (ROP) of 29 feet per hour. On a similar
well in the same area, our competitor’s TD was 7,250 feet with an
average ROP of only 7 feet per hour. Our competitors used five
drill bits, whereas BlueFire used only one, saving time and
money.
Chairman and CEO of BlueFire Equipment Corporation William A.
Blackwell said, “Now that we find ourselves in the midst of a new
domestic oil boom, the industry is hungry to replace antiquated
equipment with sophisticated technology to get more oil out of the
ground and do it more efficiently.” He added, “Not only does
BlueFire currently offer this revolutionary PDC bit but we are also
engaged in developing additional leading-edge products that will
distinguish our company for years to come.”
As previously announced, BlueFire’s exclusive design has the
ability to provide higher ROP and longer bit runs in hard rock
formations and shales.
In order to improve performance and reduce drilling cost per
foot, BlueFire bits employ large cutter face volumes for rapid
drilling of shales, sandstones, limestones and sticky clays. These
bits utilize premium PDC cutters for improved ROP and are designed
with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) directed ports to
accelerate cleaning and optimize cooling of large diameter PDC
cutters. Company findings indicate a decrease of more than 30
percent in temperature on the cutting surfaces, drastically
reducing cutter wear and extending the life of the bit.
Conventional bits use nozzles that eject drilling fluid into the
bottom of the wellbore resulting in a general application and
uneven distribution at the point of contact. BlueFire’s bit design
employs strategically aligned nozzles to concentrate high-pressure
jet steams directly on the cutting edge, lubricating the interface
between the cutters and the rock formation being drilled.
Furthermore, improved cleaning and scouring action facilitates
removal of cuttings. The result is a bit that runs cleaner and
cooler.
