NORFOLK, Va., March 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Effective April 1,
2007, Norfolk Southern will discontinue assessing fuel surcharges
on its local (non- intermodal) public rates. Future adjustments to
public prices will reflect ongoing market conditions. In this
regard, current local (non-intermodal) public prices will be
adjusted downward by one percent effective April 1. Traffic moving
under local (non-intermodal) public rates comprises approximately
five percent of Norfolk Southern's total revenue base. Norfolk
