MOBOTIX Corp., an industry-leading provider of high-resolution, network-based security solutions, today announced the Panorama Towers deployed a comprehensive MOBOTIX surveillance solution to secure its 650-unit, 800+ resident luxury condominium complex in Las Vegas, Nev. About more than half of the planned 137 MOBOTIX cameras have been installed to grant the condominium staff the image quality necessary to investigate incidents and resident violations.

Christian Petrou, CEO of Rvnue, the systems integrator on the project, designed the system in the most cost-efficient way possible, leveraging MOBOTIX hemispheric technology to drastically reduce the required number of cameras with MOBOTIX Q24, D14 and the newly released S14D. The S14D features two hemispheric sensor modules, each with a 180-degree horizontal viewing angle, connected to the camera module through a 6-foot-long cable. The camera wiring and housing can be concealed in a wall or ceiling with a lens on either side, so one S14D provides a full 180-degree view of two adjacent rooms. The MOBOTIX hemispheric technology reduced the required camera count and, therefore, delivered exceptional cost savings.

“You couldn’t get this coverage with as few cameras as we are using with any other camera manufacturer. With the S14's hemispheric view, we can replace almost a dozen traditional cameras. One D14 can replace a handful of cameras and a single Q24 does the work of three to six traditional cameras,” Petrou said. “The reduction in the number of cameras required saved about $75,000 in initial investment.”

The Panorama Towers experienced additional cost savings through the deployment of MxControlCenter, professional video management software included with the purchase of every MOBOTIX camera at no additional cost. MxControlCenter consolidates video operation in a straightforward and powerful manner with user-based operation and evaluation. The advanced program, specifically designed to synergize with the high-resolution MOBOTIX network cameras, offers all of the features of robust video management software, including a user-friendly interface and camera display, convenient video search, practical alarm handling, automatic camera integration, video storage on file servers and a useful configuration.

“Many of bids from other integrators included up to $140,000 annually in licensing fees,” Petrou said. “With MOBOTIX, that cost is completely eliminated.”

“The subtle and discreet MOBOTIX solution deployed at Panorama Towers is an ideal fit for the luxury condominium complex. The cameras’ small size and cutting-edge appeal, especially found in the Q24 and S14, blends in perfectly with their award-winning architecture and interior design while delivering unmatched image clarity,” said Steve Gorski, General Manager, Americas, MOBOTIX.
