Norman Kalmin, President, CEO and Medical Director for South Texas
Blood & Tissue Center, stated, "Wyndgate has a solid reputation
for developing quality blood bank software systems. Their recent
release, ElDorado Donor, offers STBTC technology and robust
functionality that will create cost-saving efficiencies and provide
us tools that can improve blood safety during the manufacturing
process." Dr. Kalmin continued, "Wyndgate Technologies has provided
us with a comprehensive business solution which addresses the
complex needs of our organization. In addition to implementing
ElDorado Donor in our collection facility, eDonor will offer our
staff effective tools to improve communication with donors and
increase donation frequency, while Donor Doc health history
questionnaire will automate our donor pre-qualification process."
ElDorado Donor is a comprehensive donor management system which has
been developed as part of an integrated modular system specifically
designed for donor centers and hospitals. It was designed to
increase efficiency and help enhance blood safety during the
manufacture of blood products for transfusion, and combines system
management, donor management tools, laboratory testing,
manufacturing processes and distribution to allow an information
stream to flow from donation to final distribution. eDonor is a
web-based donor relationship management system that integrates
recruitment, scheduling, retention and fulfillment for national as
well as local community blood centers and hospital based blood
centers. eDonor unites flexible list management tools with multiple
communication channels to increase donor retention and donation
frequency, and supports the development and deployment of
sophisticated donor loyalty programs. ElDorado Donor Doc is an
electronic health history questionnaire and physical exam tracking
system which assists blood centers in screening donors by capturing
medical and physical examination information. The software
identifies donor responses where additional staff investigation is
necessary and can help blood centers prevent release of products
from unsuitable donors. Thomas F. Marcinek, President and COO for
Global Med Technologies, commented, "As one of the most prominent
blood and tissue donation centers in the United States, South Texas
Blood & Tissue Center's decision to implement our comprehensive
donor systems demonstrates great confidence in Global Med. We are
very pleased to have been chosen to provide our innovative
solutions to their donor center. Our objective is to develop
products that help our customers improve their businesses so they
may provide the best possible service to their clients and
communities. We have enjoyed working with STBTC in the past and
look forward to a long relationship into the future." Mick Ruxin,
M.D., Chairman and CEO of Global Med Technologies, stated, "South
Texas Blood & Tissue Center's decision to turn to Global Med
Technologies for a multi-system solution to deliver high quality
blood donor management services, together with cost-saving
efficiencies, is very much in line with the President's program of
utilizing health care information technology in order to lower
health care costs and provide improved services. We believe that
the great value-added contributions of our medical information
technology will be even more recognized as the President's strategy
is implemented and becomes policy." About South Texas Blood &
