Management Systems - DENVER, July 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Wyndgate Technologies(R), a division of Global Med Technologies(R),
Inc., (OTC:GLOB) (BULLETIN BOARD: GLOB) announced today that
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) has signed a contract to
license both the SafeTrace(R) donor management system and the
SafeTrace Tx(R) transfusion management system. Terms of the
agreement were not disclosed. (Logo:

is acknowledged throughout the United States and around the world
for its leadership in pediatric and adolescent health. Among its
achievements, it has been recognized by U.S. News & World
Report as one of the top pediatric facilities in the nation since
1990 and was named among the Top Ten children's hospitals in
America by Child magazine in 2005. There are more than 295,000
visits to CHLA each year, and the blood bank plays an important
role in the hospital operations. CHLA draws and transfuses over
29,000 units of blood every year. Successfully monitoring the
levels and maintaining the safety of CHLA's blood supply for any
length of time would be problematic without the assistance of a
sophisticated and robust automated software system. As a
Vein-to-Vein(R) customer, CHLA will use Wyndgate's SafeTrace system
to manage information regarding blood donors, infectious disease
testing, and inventory volumes and the SafeTrace Tx system to
manage critical patient history and information on special
transfusion requirements. The two systems integrate seamlessly to
allow comprehensive management and tracking throughout the
collection and transfusion process. The systems also collect
information to increase the efficiency of administrative processes
beyond tracking samples from donor to recipient, such as billing
and reports. "As a large pediatric hospital with patients that
include the most seriously ill and injured children in the Los
Angeles area, it is extremely important that Childrens Hospital Los
Angeles can ensure the quality and safety of the blood it collects
and transfuses," stated Jacque Tagliere, Blood Bank Manager at
CHLA. "We decided to replace our current system with Wyndgate's
solution because we need an advanced blood management system that
is functionally rich, reliable and supported by a company we can
trust. Both SafeTrace and SafeTrace Tx have been operational for
many years in very large and complex environments and, in working
with Wyndgate Technologies, we have found ourselves impressed with
the depth of its service. CHLA is confident that Wyndgate's systems
will meet our needs and that the company will support us in
upholding safety for our young patients." Dr. Mick Ruxin, Chairman
and CEO of Global Med Technologies, commented, "Having attended and
graduated from the University of Southern California School of
Medicine, part of my education was completing a pediatric rotation
at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, which is closely affiliated with
the medical school. It was a highlight of my medical education and
I can personally attest that the institution is a world-leader in
pediatric medicine. Wyndgate is honored to be working with CHLA's
blood bank personnel and looks forward to the role that SafeTrace
and SafeTrace Tx will play in the remarkable services CHLA's staff
provides as they transfuse blood and save lives." Dr. Ruxin
continued, "We are proud to integrate Wyndgate's advanced IT
technology with CHLA's advanced medical technology." About
