Coby Partners with SRS Labs to Equip its 40-inch and Larger Flat-Panel TVs with SRS Surround Sound Solution

SRS Labs (NASDAQ:SRSL), the industry leader in surround sound, audio enhancement, and voice post-processing technologies, announced today that Coby, a leading manufacturer of consumer electronics has signed a new agreement with SRS Labs to license SRS TruSurround XT™, a proven front-rendered surround sound solution designed for flat panel TVs, within their 40-inch and larger TVs.

“Throughout the years, TV display technologies have become quite refined, enabling consumers to view their favorite content in ways they’ve never seen before. SRS TruSurround XT delivers an enveloping surround sound experience, complete with clear dialog and rich bass using only the TV’s two built-in speakers. With TruSurround XT, TV viewers are able to enjoy a much wider audio “sweet spot”, allowing the multichannel content delivered to the built-in stereo speakers to feel as though it’s being delivered from multiple speakers placed around the room, making any seat in the room the best seat.

Initially, the Coby LEDTV4626 46-inch LED TV and LEDTV5536 55-inch LED TV will ship with SRS TruSurround XT and moving forward, all other 40-inch and greater Coby models will ship with TruSurround XT, delivering to Coby’s customers a premium surround sound experience right out of the box.
