Since only 8% or so dilution from present $5.9 B market cap, perhaps won't affect share price much. Quite often you'll see 30-50% dilution and that is a share price killer. The company does need to start realizing some economies of scale on cost as revenues rise, and become profitable. GLTA!

Imo soun is going back to 9 area with this dilution news, they are full of revenue but can not become profitable with their extreme debt load. Alot of high end salary to be paid, and soun is not a top contender for many of these federal an defense contracts being handed out, time will tell

Tech, power, and some other stocks were jolted on January 27 when a Chinese generative artificial intelligence (AI) company released the latest version of a free, large-language model (LLM). Many mega-cap tech stocks—some of the Magnificent 7 in particular—had their worst day in years. Since then, most of the hardest hit stocks recovered some of their losses.

Here’s what you need to know about the latest AI news and how it might impact investors.

Artificial intelligence competitor emerges
A foreign startup launched its V3 LLM back in December. On January 27, the same company released its new R1 model (which was built upon the V3 model) and quickly became a top downloaded app.

The company reported that the open-source LLM reportedly cost just $5.6 million and it appears to be functionally competitive to other AI tools.1 That being said, that figure is related to the last training run of the model, and we don’t have a full accounting of the entire spend picture. In addition, the cost doesn’t incorporate the costs associated with the open-source LLM models that were used to train R1.

Speed to market was another factor that took some investors off guard. Instead of taking months or years to pretrain the LLM, as has been the case with other models, R1 reportedly took just 2 months. Again, it is worth noting that the model was built using more reinforcement learning—building on top of existing models—making it faster to train and more efficient than one with no previous versions.

The news reinvigorated conversations about AI spend and within the AI community about whether algorithmic efficiency, represented in this case by the R1 LLM, may be a more efficient approach than brute-force computational power. The latter has been a driving factor behind massive spending by hyperscalers on big-data centers, chips, and power generation.

Investing implications
The R1 model raised questions about the estimated cost of building out AI going forward. Due to the compute costs for the R1 LLM appearing to be a fraction of that of other large foundational model builders, semiconductor and hardware stocks (which have far outperformed the broad market over the past several years) were rattled upon the news. Some power stocks, which have benefited from computational energy needs, were also impacted.

While it’s still early, there was some rotation into software stocks from semiconductors, given the potential implication that new models could potentially be built on the backs of existing ones using more software and less hardware-intensive processes.

SOUN acquired Amelia and got some good patents out of them and total number now 248 patents, not all active, rev 46M, profit 35M.
LPSN is a combination of 15 company with 200+ high value active patents rev. 400M+ profit 260M.

hate to disappoint you but:
a) military drones already have great video capability for target recognition and Big Bear would be the natural choice for adding any AI to that.
b) they don't run off voice commands
c) they can fly without human interaction indeed they can navigate without GPS now.

The deal for emergency response vehicles is important because there are humans there hence SOUN is perfect fit.

What many people are missing is THE MILITARY DRONES USE...... (MILITARY CONTRACTS)
The operators need VIDEO and AUDIO to guide the DRONES to their targets....

I'm adding back into tomorrow . Speculative , high risk etc but I like their tech and think a lot of "fast money " just got washed out .

With that said, I added back some yesterday at $13.39 on a bit of a gamble.
I don't think its done dropping yet, but if it drops to around $8.50, I'll probably add a bit more.
I think a stop loss around $5.50 would be ugly, but a lesson learned.

I would expect it to get there and then see if that is resistance. It did offera little support on. the way down but nothing serious. so if the market is good the 17.30 resistance may be weak.
At least the 50 DMA and .618 fibonacci level held

The best thing you did was to post your specific price points proving to be the biggest bozo so far on this board.

How in the world can you claim oversold when it was at $4 just 3 months ago? The stock is still losing money. Support on the chart is way down at $8.06 currently.
If this bounces back up around $13, as I hope, its due to speculation.
I'm just guessing, but the $12.70 it reached today was about right to start adding back a little with caution.
I think I'll add back a touch today....but its a risky move as is always buying on the way down.

Closing in on 50 day MA, let's see if we get a bounce or if the overall market is so weak that just about everything continues down. If everything continues down, companies with no earnings and negative cash flow such as SOUN will experience disproportionate downward movement, IMO.

fibonacci 0.618 level and 50 DMA both around 12.60. thats my level to watch for a bounce monday.

SOUN I dont expert $5. Maybe $8-$9. I would scale in at $10. Check BNRG by the way. The only OTC I hold is RSPI. Also my lottery ticket.

There are so many NASDAQ and NYSE good plays . Right situation and you can make better profits than stinky pinky . RSPI is my big lottery pick . Watching for a buyout

Watching for a re entry at 5 would be amazing. I was a little apprensive when I bought below 5 dollars . 1000 shares for me was massive . Thank the good lord it went BOOM!
