Appointment of Directors


Chieftain Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurence George
Adams, Anthony William Cutchie and Raymond Johnson as executive directors of the
company with immediate effect.

All three individuals have been directors of wholly owned subsidiaries of
Chieftain Group plc for several years.

Laurence Adams is commercial director for the group.  Raymond Johnson is
operations director for the fabrication businesses.  Anthony Cutchie is
responsible for the group's engineering sales, labour supply and mechanical
erection businesses.

Save as disclosed in this announcement, there are no matters to be disclosed
under paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules.  Laurence Adams has entered into a
voluntary arrangement with certain personal creditors.
