Participation in the Call to Advance Democracy
Tintra , the fast-growth Deep Tech & Banking business, is
delighted to announce its participation in the US Government's "
Call to Advance Democracy " , issued in the run-up to the Summit
for Democracy. The call focused on four areas aligned with the
Presidential Initiative on Democratic Renewal :
1. advancing technology for democracy;
2. fighting corruption;
3. protecting civic space and human rights defenders; and
4. advancing labour rights.
Tintra joins over 150 companies in this initiative, including
such giants of the tech industry as Microsoft, Meta, Apple and
Google.
Tintra made commitments alongside various luminaries to further
its commitment to our causes of financial and social inclusion.
As can be seen HERE , Tintra will provide financial and in-kind
support to co-create along with USAID (United States Agency for
International Development) and other partners activities under the
CTC Grand Challenge to creatively harness the power of data to more
easily and effectively expose and prevent corruption. We have
specifically discussed the application of Tintra's patent suite in
dealing with the issues specific to these organisations and how our
innovations can assist.
As part of this effort (or separately so if requested) Tintra
will host a hackathon/datathon in its offices with USAID's key
partners, advancing solutions toward a problem identified by
USAID.
In addition, Tintra will provide a paid three-month mentorship
to a promising early-stage finalist identified through the CTC
Grand Challenge, which will include training with Tintra's coders,
and support in developing, validating, and piloting their
solution.
Richard Shearer , Tintra CEO, commented, " For the past two
weeks I have been on the road with various Tintra team members.
From East Africa to the Middle East then New York and Washington
DC, in every territory, we met with key members of the public and
private sectors.
Our strategy is one to engage stakeholders across Government and
multi-national bodies at the take off point rather than just at the
landing. By doing this we continue to build solutions into a need
rather than build a solution looking for a problem. These meetings
continue to be powerful and insightful and form a key part of our
commercial differentiation.
Meetings here in Washington, DC, were organised by Dr Vanessa
Neumann, Tintra's Chair of Strategic Initiatives for Latin America
and the Caribbean, around the 2nd Summit for Democracy. The
meetings have enabled conversations with, amongst others: academics
at the powerful policy-shaping think tank the Center for Strategic
and International Studies (CSIS); the White House; the
Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), which is the biggest lender
and public-private finance coordinator for Latin America and the
Caribbean, and the world's leading tech companies.
In New York, we will be meeting with one of the key agencies of
the United Nations, further extending our mission to build the
strategic relationships that separates Tintra from our competitors
."
