             Confirmation of Group Finance Director's leaving date





As previously announced on 14 March, Darren Shapland will be leaving Carpetright
this summer.  His departure date has now been agreed as 29 July 2005.



Lord Harris said, "We thank Darren for all his efforts on our behalf during his
time with us and wish him every success in his new role at Sainsbury's.   The
process to recruit Darren's successor is making good progress and we will make a
further announcement as soon as we have finalised the appointment."
