NEW YORK, June 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Tanke
BioSciences Corporation (OTCQB: TNBI), a China-based integrated biotech company that
develops, manufactures, and markets animal feed additives and
livestock nutritional products, today announced it will be
sponsoring the Fifth Biannual International Symposium on Feed
Additive, Animal Nutrition & Health, June 24 and 25, at the Dragon Lake Princess Hotel
in Guangzhou,
China.
The Symposium, organized by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural
Sciences, will feature many of the world's top researchers in
animal nutrition who will make presentations on the latest advances
in animal feed additives and animal food safety. These
speakers and panelists will be from the Chinese Academy of
Sciences, the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture, the Chinese Academy
of Engineering, as well as from leading universities in
China, the U.S. and New
Zealand.
Among the speakers will be Dr. Paul J.
Moughan, Distinguished Professor at Massey University,
New Zealand and Fellow of the
British Royal Society of Chemistry, and Dr. Xingen Lei, Professor of Molecular Nutrition at
Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Dr. Moughan is widely
regarded as a world authority on mammalian protein metabolism and
food evaluation science and has published some 350 works of
scholarship. Dr. Lei, a recipient of the prestigious Mead
Johnson Award from the American Society of Nutritional Sciences, is
generally considered to be among the foremost experts in animal
food nutrition and safety.
Also making presentations will be Tanke's chief engineer,
Professor Bing Teng, and the company's director of marketing, Dr.
Zhiying Cui. These
presentations will discuss a number of new animal feed additives
including organic trace mineral additives, a rapidly growing
product category that offers many safety, cost and environmental
advantages over conventional inorganic mineral additives.
Tanke is the largest producer of organic trace minerals in
China. The company is scheduled to
open its second plant in China for
producing these minerals by spring 2013. This plant is expected to
help Tanke significantly increase its organic trace minerals market
share. These minerals, as well as Tanke's other products, are
free of antibiotics and genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
Attendees to the Tanke Symposium will include CEOs, general
managers, and chief technology officers of mid- to large-size
animal feed producers, university professors and researchers, as
well as national and local government officials.
"We are very proud to be sponsoring this conference," said Tanke
founder and CEO, Guixiong Qiu. "With the myriad of challenges
facing China in the area of food
safety, we believe our Symposium will disseminate the latest and
most vital information about the newest technologies available to
ensure that the Chinese people, and other peoples around the world,
receive safe, nutritious and affordable food."
Dr. Lei added, "I am delighted to speak at this conference and
encouraged to see the scientific and technological progress in
China's animal feed additive
industry, especially the increased utilization of organic trace
minerals to enhance animal health, food safety, and environmental
protection."
