Appointment of a Non-executive Director

AECI is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Recht Louis ("Tak") Hiemstra
as Non-executive Director of the Company.

Mr Hiemstra was an Executive Director of Imperial Holdings from 1995 to 2012,
responsible for portfolios including M&A activity and investor relations. He
held several Board positions in the Imperial Group, including CEO of Imperial
Bank from 2000 to 2004.  Mr Hiemstra retired from full-time employment at
Imperial in 2012, remaining on that Board as a Non-executive Director.

During his tenure at Imperial he also served as a Director of Kagiso Media
Limited for eight years.

He is currently Chairman of Distribution and Warehousing Network Limited.

Mr Hiemstra's appointment to the AECI Board is effective from 1 May 2014.
