Earlier this week Linamar Corporation (TSX:LNR) was presented with the 2008
Merchandising Innovation Award from Home Depot, recognizing the outstanding
performance of Linamar's Solaris emission free electric lawnmower. Taking top
honours, Linamar was joined by two second-place finishers in a category
comprised of thousands of stock-keeping units (SKUs) and hundreds of vendors.

The award, announced at Home Depot Canada's annual Vendor Partnership Meeting in
Toronto, saw over 2,000 people in attendance. "This is a very prestigious award
for a Home Depot vendor partner to receive and represents a tremendous
compliment to Linamar and our ability to launch exciting new products," said
Andrew McGillivray, General Manager.

Linamar Consumer Products, a Linamar Company, launched the electric mower in
April 2008 offering the convenience of an environmental friendly electric mower
with the cutting power of a traditional internal combustion engine. The high
torque high efficiency motor technology is known as the Terra Phase Power
System.

The Linamar cordless, electric mower uses no oil, no gas and can last up-to an
hour on one battery charge. The addition of a solar re-charge option makes this
product a truly green alternative for maintaining your lawn.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be the recipient of Home Depot's coveted
Merchandising Innovation Award," said Linamar CEO Linda Hasenfratz. "Our
emission free high efficiency lawnmower is a key product for the future -- for
Linamar and for our environment. We are so pleased that Home Depot shares our
vision and passion for products that help our environment."

The motor and lawnmower products are consistent with Linamar's business strategy
of using diversity and innovation to continue to sustain and grow its business.
