Children's Bureau and KTLA Charities Honored KB Home Chairman and
CEO Bruce Karatz at 23rd Annual President's Invitational Golf
Tournament LOS ANGELES, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's Bureau
and KTLA Charities honored KB Home Chairman and CEO Bruce Karatz at
the 23rd Annual President's Invitational Golf Tournament held on
Monday, May 10 at Lakeside Golf Club in Burbank. The tournament
raised a record $440,000 net for Children's Bureau's prevention
programs aimed at helping abused and neglected children lead
hopeful, productive lives. Monies raised at the event will also
benefit KTLA Charities, a fund of the McCormick Tribune Foundation.
The tournament was sold out with 148 of Southern California's top
business leaders participating in the event at $5,000 a foursome.
The tournament also had ten Benefactor Sponsors at $10,000 each
that included Bank of America; Bank One; CB Richard Ellis, Inc.;
Credit Suisse First Boston; Hancock Park Associates; Houlihan,
Lokey, Howard and Zukin, Inc.; Latham & Watkins; Morgan
Stanley; Oaktree Capital Management; Occidental Petroleum;
PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP; The Wallis Foundation and Wells Fargo
Bank. Tournament Co-Chairs were Randy Bort, Managing Director at
The Mercanti Group, LLC, and Rick Welch, Partner at Bingham
McCutchen, LLP. Karatz was honored for his generous contribution of
time and financial support to the Children's Bureau helping to
ensure that their work with at-risk children and their families
continues to grow. Under Karatz's guidance, KB Home has become a
leading contributor to both national and local children's
organizations, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars and
thousands of volunteer hours to give children brighter futures. For
100 years, Children's Bureau has been a non-profit leader in the
prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Services are
provided to more than 7,000 children and families each year
throughout Southern California. As a tournament partner, KTLA
Charities receive a match from the McCormick Tribune Foundation for
each contribution to the fund. KTLA Charities has granted
