Gateway Names Former Best Buy.com Senior Exec to Top Direct Post POWAY, Calif. and IRVINE, Calif., May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gateway, Inc. announced today that it has further rounded out its senior management team with the appointment of Scott Bauhofer as senior vice president, direct. He will report directly to Gateway President and CEO Wayne Inouye and oversee all Web and consumer phone sales activities. Since 1996, Bauhofer has worked in variety of roles at Best Buy, most recently overseeing Best Buy.com online stores, one of the top e-commerce web sites in the U.S. Previously, Bauhofer spent more than 20 years in consumer electronics and PC retailing with The Good Guys, MobilWorks and Home Express. He has a BA in history from San Francisco State University. Following Bauhofer's appointment, Erik Gerson, acting senior vice president, consumer direct, will be leaving the company after a period of transition.
