Waitt Foundation Makes Disaster Donation to Red Cross $100,000
Donated by Gateway CEO for Fire Victim Assistance POWAY, Calif.,
Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Gateway Chairman and CEO Ted Waitt today
announced a $100,000 donation from the Waitt Family Foundation to
the local American Red Cross to assist victims of the wildfires
that have stricken the County in recent days. "Obviously, this is a
tragic time for many in Southern California," Mr. Waitt said. "The
San Diego County fires hit especially close to home and virtually
everyone has been affected in one way or another. Our thoughts are
with all who have been impacted, including some of Gateway's own
employees who have lost their homes. We want to do what we can for
those affected by supporting the Red Cross relief effort, and urge
other local businesses to do all that they can as well." The Waitt
Family Foundation donation to the Red Cross was made in response to
a fundraising effort organized by the Jeff and Jer Show on Star
100.7 FM on Tuesday morning. The Waitt Family Foundation was
established in 1993 by Ted and Joan Waitt with the mission of
"helping good people do great things" for communities in need. The
Red Cross' efforts to assist those in immediate need of food,
clothing and shelter are certainly an example of good people doing
great things throughout San Diego. About the Waitt Family

the family, and share promising practices to benefit other
