Delivery companies including FedEx Corp. (FDX) and United Parcel
Service (UPS), have had issues with foreign deliveries to
individual customers in Russia over stricter government paperwork
requirements, Reuters reported Thursday.
The report said FedEx temporarily suspended foreign shipments to
individual customers, Reuters reported.
DHL Worldwide Express Inc. said it will suspend shipments of
products for personal use to Russia from Jan. 27, Reuters reported.
DHL said an expanded list of required documents has significantly
slowed down the customs process, Reuters reported.
A spokeswoman for UPS told The Wall Street Journal that the
company has experienced "significant delays" in its deliveries of
packages to private individuals in Russia, but hasn't suspended its
deliveries. However, she said UPS is evaluating whether to do so.
Commercial shipments by UPS to businesses and document shipments to
individuals have not been affected, the spokeswoman added.
