Former Grubhub and Pinterest leader brings a
strong track record of scaling consumer tech businesses to new
leadership role
Eventbrite (NYSE: EB), a global ticketing and event technology
platform, today announced the appointment of Casey Winters to Chief
Product Officer. In this role, Winters will lead the global product
management, design and research teams to drive innovation for event
creators around the world.
Winters has spent the past 15 years scaling technology
businesses as a skilled growth and product leader, starting as an
early employee at Grubhub and Pinterest. Throughout his career, he
has advised companies including Airbnb, Tinder, reddit, Thumbtack,
Canva, and Hipcamp. Most recently, he served as a strategic advisor
to Eventbrite, where he was focused on identifying and creating new
opportunities for consumers to engage with the platform, including
increased personalization of event recommendations and the ability
to follow creators.
“For the past two years, I’ve analyzed the behaviors of event
attendees and the complex needs of event creators and developed
products to find creative and impactful ways to meet their needs.
I’m excited for this new opportunity to work with the world-class
product and engineering team at Eventbrite to craft and execute a
product strategy and vision that will better serve all of our
customers, both immediately and in the long term,” said
Winters.
“Casey is both a proven industry leader and an advisor who
deeply understands our business and our customers, which positions
him to make an immediate impact in this new role,” said Julia
Hartz, co-founder and CEO of Eventbrite. “The opportunity in front
of us is massive, both across our self-sign on business and with
our higher touch creators like music venues, promoters and
festivals. Casey brings the exact type of leadership that will
guide us to continue striking the right balance between continuous
product innovation, serving a diverse set of customer needs and
accelerated growth.”
The appointment of Winters to this new leadership role
underscores the company’s commitment to developing innovative
product solutions that help creators in 170 countries sell more
tickets to more events. In 2018, Eventbrite served 795,000
creators, processing 265 million tickets to nearly 4 million events
around the world.
