Item 5.02

Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

Edward Royal Smith, the Executive Vice President, Operations of Enviva Inc. (the “Company”), has separated from the Company effective as of May 5, 2023 pursuant to notice given by the Company on May 1, 2023. Mr. Smith will be eligible to receive the payments contemplated in his employment agreement with the Company consistent with a termination without cause.
