PR Newswire (US)
KALAMAZOO, Mich., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Manatron, Inc.
(NASDAQ:MANA) a leading provider of software products and services
for local governments, including the revolutionary Government
Revenue Management(R) (GRM(TM)) software, today announced that it
has received a contract totaling approximately $1.26 million over
five years from Horry County, South Carolina for its CAMA (Computer
Aided Mass Appraisal) software. The project also includes
integration to critical County business processes including
Geographical Information System (GIS), permitting, work order
management, and tax billing and collection. Horry County
(pronounced O-REE) is located on the East Coast of South Carolina
and is bordered on the north by the North Carolina state line. The
County features the Grand Strand, a 60-mile long chain of tranquil,
sandy beaches, including Myrtle Beach and is a prime destination
for the recreation and retirement community. Horry is one of the
fastest growing counties in the U.S. with over 200,000 parcels and
a population growth rate of 37 percent during the last 10 years. To
keep pace with this level of growth, Horry County embarked on major
program to over haul all of its critical information technology
systems including a CAMA system that was over 20 years old. Rendel
Mincey, the Horry County Assessor of Property commented, "Our
contract with Manatron allows for the purchase of new Computer
Assisted Mass Appraisal software. This new project will enable
Horry County extended and more accurate appraisal capabilities
while upgrading the Assessors office to the latest generation of
CAMA Software. This software, along with the upgraded software of
other departments within the county will improve the workflow of
day to day operations. This will ultimately allow us to serve the
citizens of Horry County in a more efficient, and timely manner."
"Horry County is a significant new account and contract win for
Manatron that I expect will lead to additional business in South
Carolina," said Paul Sylvester, Manatron's President and Chief
Executive Officer. "Their existing property assessment software was
reaching the end of its life cycle and they wanted a new solution
that would allow them to serve their constituents accurately and
fairly. I am pleased that we were able to meet their requirements
and am looking forward to providing Horry County with their 'next
generation' CAMA software and services for many years." About
