The contract is a follow-on to previous
Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract for depot
level repair services on the ANVIS/HUD®. Work will be performed by
Elbit Systems of America Service and
Support Solutions in Talladega,
Alabama and is expected to be completed in 2016.
Elbit Systems of America is a world leader in providing
sophisticated avionics systems for rotary and fixed wing military
and commercial aircraft. Service and Support Solutions is the
Elbit Systems of America Repair Center of Excellence, supporting
Elbit Systems of America systems and those of several other major
manufacturers. The ANVIS/HUD® collects and displays critical flight
information from aircraft sensors and converts the information into
visual imagery in rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. The system, which
consists of the Signal Data Converter (SDC), Control Converter Unit
(CCU) and the Helmet Display Unit (HDU), improves flight safety and
situational awareness by reducing the pilot's head and eye motion
for cockpit scanning. Using the ANVIS/HUD®, complicated maneuvers
in bad weather and low visibility conditions, low altitudes, or
night operations may be performed safely with enhanced
survivability.
Elbit Systems of America, President and Chief Executive Officer,
Raanan Horowitz commented: "This
follow-on contract is evidence of our commitment to provide
exceptional life-cycle management services in support of mission
readiness requirements. We are proud to offer leading solutions and
support for our ANVIS/HUD® and many other systems through the
Repair Center of Excellence. This agreement reinforces our strong
relationship with the Army and we look forward to our continued
partnership."
