France's Air Liquide SA (AI.FR) said Tuesday that its first-half net profit and revenue rose on strong sales and several long-term contracts.

Net profit at the industrial-gases producer was 1.06 billion euros ($1.18 billion), up from EUR1.04 billion a year earlier, the company said.

The company's revenue rose to EUR10.95 billion, up from EUR10.16 billion the same period last year. The growth was largely driven by a dynamic gas and service business, which accounts for 96% of its total revenue, according to the company.

"Assuming a comparable environment, Air Liquide is confident in its ability to deliver net profit growth in 2019, at constant exchange rates," CEO Benoit Potier said.
