Capital Radio strengthens its Board expertise

Capital Radio, the UK's leading commercial radio group, today announces that it
is to strengthen its Board with two new appointments, inviting both internal and
external expertise to the business, with immediate effect.

Peter Williams (49) joins the Capital Radio Board as a non-executive Director.
He was appointed Chief Executive of Selfridges in March 2003, originally joining
Selfridges in 1991 as Finance Director. His impressive history at Selfridges
includes his successful negotiation of the purchase of the company by Wittington
Investments and his primary role in the rejuvenation of the business to produce
one of the UK's leading and most innovative retail brands. His widespread
experience includes management roles at Aiwa Limited (division of Sony), the
home shopping retailer Freeman's, and Accenture. Peter is also a member of the
Management Board for the British Retail Consortium and is Chairman of the London
Retail Consortium.

Nathalie Schwarz (33) joins the Board as Strategy and Development Director
responsible for the strategic development of the Group, including M&A activity,
regulatory and public affairs and digital radio development. She joined Capital
Radio in July 1998 as Company Secretary and Head of Legal Affairs from Clifford
Chance, where as a corporate finance lawyer, she specialised in mergers and
acquisitions. In 2001, she was promoted to Director of Strategy and Development
and member of the Executive Committee. She has led a number of the Group's
recent acquisitions, including Border Television plc, Beat FM, Choice FM and Big
AM. As the driving force in the Company's digital radio development and
expansion across new platforms, she was responsible for the formation of a
strategic alliance between Capital Radio and The Walt Disney Company in 2002,
which became the leading kids radio network in the UK. In addition, she
negotiated the joint venture with UBC Media plc to develop a national data
channel and applications for digital radio.

Peter Cawdron, Chairman, said, "We are very pleased to appoint two people with
such proven track records to bring new ideas and added expertise to our Board.
We are committed to having independent non-executives at Capital and Peter's
extensive customer experience and wider corporate perspective will be a real
advantage for the Group. Nathalie has played a leading role in Capital's
analogue and digital growth over the last five years. Her detailed knowledge of
the company and the radio industry will be invaluable. I look forward to working
more closely with both Peter and Nathalie and welcome them onto the Board."
