Siemens AG said Tuesday that it is adding former German minister
Sigmar Gabriel to the supervisory board of its energy business,
which it intends to list in September.
Mr. Gabriel served as vice chancellor of Germany from 2013 to
2018 and held several other positions such as minister for foreign
affairs.
Apart from Mr. Gabriel, Siemens Energy's supervisory board
includes Christine Bortenlaenger, Geisha Jimenez Williams, Hubert
Lienhard, Hildegard Mueller, Laurence Mulliez and Randy Zwirn.
Siemens Chief Executive Joe Kaeser, Chief Financial Officer Ralf
Thomas and Matthias Rebellius--Chief Operating Officer of Siemens'
Smart Infrastructure division--are also part of the board. Mr.
Kaeser is expected to be elected board chairman.
Overall, the supervisory board will have 20 members after the
spinoff, Siemens said.
