On August 8, 2018, Alcoa Corporation (the Company) issued a press release announcing the following actions related to its U.S.
pension and other postemployment benefit obligations: (a) the signing of a group annuity contract to transfer assets and related obligations of defined benefit pension plans for certain U.S. retirees and beneficiaries, (b) a discretionary
contribution of $100 million to further fund its U.S. defined benefit pension plans, and (c) the elimination of life insurance provided to certain U.S. salaried retirees, effective September 1, 2018. A copy of the press release is
attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
