John Wood Group PLC (WG.LN) said Thursday that it has been
awarded a one-year contract to provide front-end engineering design
for IRPC PCL's (IRPC.TH) petrochemical complex in Thailand's Rayong
province.
The contract will be delivered from Wood's offices in Sriracha,
Thailand, and secures around 100 jobs in the country, the FTSE
100-listed energy-services company said. The value of the contract
wasn't disclosed.
The deal is meant to support IRPC's expansion of its aromatics
business for a paraxylene complex to be built at the Thai company's
existing site in Rayong, Wood said.
Wood shares at 0854 GMT were up 1.1% at 739.80 pence.
