                               Changes to Board                                

The Board of US Special Opportunities Trust plc have today appointed three
new Directors, with immediate effect:  Mr Duncan Abbot (Chair), Mr Rory Macleod
and Mr Andrew Pegge. 

Also today, three of the existing Directors, Lord Lang of Monkton (Chairman),
Mr Ernest Fenton and Mr William Vanderfelt have resigned from the Board, to
take immediate effect. The fourth Director, Mr Stephen White continues as a
Director of the Company.

 

Commenting, Lord Lang said: "We were pleased to appoint the new Directors to
lead the Company to the next stage of its life. Proposals will shortly be
announced to extend the Company's life at the end of its seven-year term in May
2008 whilst at the same time providing a cash exit opportunity.  In the absence
of sufficient shareholder support for a rollover into a new company, we welcome
the proposed extension of the present company's life in order to secure the
most expedient realisation of its assets with the objective of maximising the
returns from those investments. We are confident that the structure of the new
Board and their proposals, as they have been described to us, will enable them
to represent even-handedly the best interests of all categories of
shareholder."
