The Company has been informed today that Mr. I J G Hamilton (Operations
Director) has sold 10,000 Ordinary 5p shares at a price of 65p on 6 August 1997
for his own benefit and that Mr. J Rivans (Sales Director) has sold 15,000
Ordinary 5p shares at a price of 65p on 6 August 1997 for his own benefit. In
both cases shares were sold to partially recover the cost of Mr. I J G
Hamilton's and Mr. J Rivans exercise of share options as notified on 21 July
1997. Following these sales their holdings in Ordinary 5p shares are:

Mr I J G Hamilton     77,700 shares      Mr J Rivans      72,500 shares
