TDG announces that, as planned, Angus Crichton-Miller and Howard Phillips, each
having completed 9 years' service, will be retiring from the Board as
non-executive directors after the Annual General Meeting of the Company on 12
May 2003.

TDG also announces the appointment of two new non-executive directors, Michael
Averill and Philip Graf.

Michael Averill (51) will be appointed with effect from 1 May 2003. Michael is
Group Chief Executive of Shanks Group plc, a position he has held since 1994.
Prior to joining the group in 1989, he held various sales, marketing and
business development positions at The Plessey Company PLC and Herga Electric
Limited. He is also a non-executive director of Waste and Resources Action
Programme (WRAP), an organization formed by the Government in 2001 to promote
sustainable waste management. He has a BSc from Imperial College and an MBA
from Cranfield.

Shanks Group is one of Europe's largest independent waste management companies.
It operates in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands and employs about 4,600
people. In 2001/2002 it reported turnover of �529 million.

Philip Graf (56) will be appointed with effect from 1 June 2003. Philip joined
the board of Trinity Plc in 1987 and was its Chief Executive from 1993 until
February 2003. He is also a director of Royal Exchange Theatre Company Limited
and The Press Standards Board of Finance Limited. Prior to joining Trinity in
1983, Philip held a number of sales and marketing positions in regional
newspaper companies. Philip has an MA in law from Cambridge.

Trinity Plc was built up to become the UK's largest regional newspaper group.
In 1999, Trinity merged with the Mirror Group to create the UK's largest
newspaper group, Trinity Mirror plc. Trinity Mirror employs over 12,000 people
and in 2002 it reported turnover of �1.1 billion.
