Ted Baker plc ("the Company") announces that on 11 October 2006 it purchased
550,000 ordinary shares in the Company at  a price of 485 pence per share to be
held in treasury.

The Company now holds a total of 550,000 treasury shares.

The total number of shares in issue is 43,198,033 and the total number of shares
in issue excluding treasury shares is  42,648,033.
