Appointment of Acting Chairman

The board of William Sinclair Holdings plc announces with regret that its 
Chairman, Mr Peter Barton, died on 26 July after a brief illness. Mr Barton 
made a major contribution to the Company over many years and he will be 
greatly missed.

The process to appoint a new Chairman to succeed Mr Barton will commence 
shortly. In the meantime Mr William Simpson, currently the senior 
non-executive director, has agreed to serve as the acting chairman with 
immediate effect until a successor has been appointed.
