    PetroLatina Energy Plc 
    ("PetroLatina" or the "Company")

    Temporary suspension of trading in the Company's shares

    PetroLatina, the oil and gas exploration, development and production company focused on Latin America, announces that the publication of
its 2007 report and accounts has been delayed pending completion of the final US$15 million tranche of a total US$25 million investment. 

    Further to the announcement made on 19 May 2008, the Company is currently in the final stages of securing the second tranche of US$15
million, having received the first tranche of US$10 million, of a total investment of US$25 million from Tribeca Oil and Gas, Inc. ("TOGI"),
a portfolio investment company of Tribecapital Partners S.A. ("Tribeca"), a Colombian Private Equity Firm. Upon completion of this
significant investment, the Company's audit process can be finalised and the audited report and accounts posted to shareholders.

    For the reason set out above, the Company's annual accounts for its year ended 31 December 2007 cannot yet be finalised and will not
therefore be published today. Accordingly, the Company is not currently in a position to be able to comply with the requirements of AIM Rule
19. The Company has therefore requested that trading in its shares be temporarily suspended until the audited report and accounts are
published. The Company looks forward to updating its shareholders and posting its audited accounts as soon as practicable.
