                       COMPLETION OF #973,000 FUNDRAISING

PetroLatina Energy Plc ("PetroLatina" or the "Company") (AIM:PELE), an
independent oil and gas exploration, development and production company focused
on Latin America, is pleased to announce that it has raised #973,000 through a
placement of 4,865,000 ordinary shares with investors.

Application has been made for the new ordinary shares to be admitted to trading
on AIM and dealings are expected to commence on 25st September 2006.

The equity issue was led by Seymour Pierce.

Nicholas Gay, Chief Executive Officer, commented:
"We are very pleased with the continued support received from existing
shareholders. This completes the equity fundraising in relation to the
