APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

London Mining is pleased to announce the appointment of James North as Chief Operating Officer ("COO"). James joins the Company today from BHP Billiton where he was General Manager of the Newman Joint Venture Iron Ore mines. In this role James oversaw improvements in operating costs, productivity and safety of the four iron ore mines surrounding Newman in the East Pilbara region with production of 68Mtpa.

James has over 20 years' experience in mining and minerals processing having also worked with Rio Tinto, BMA Coal and Mount Isa Mines. In addition to his extensive iron ore experience, James has significant African mining experience, having worked as the General Manager of Operations at BHP Billiton's Mozal aluminium smelter in Mozambique. James is a metallurgist by training and has a bachelor's degree in Business Management. The new COO role is based in London.

Luciano Ramos, the current COO, will retire from his position during 2012 to concentrate on family and personal interests, after a thorough handover process. This follows over 5 years at London Mining, during which time Luciano has helped drive London Mining's growth from developer into iron ore producer. Luciano will remain on the board of London Mining for the foreseeable future.

Graeme Hossie, Chief Executive Officer of London Mining said "Luciano Ramos has played a vital role in London Mining's success as we have developed our operations in Brazil and Sierra Leone and optimized the project scope and completed a bankable feasibility study for the Isua Project in Greenland. We are immensely grateful for his work and dedication over this time and look forward to his continuing support and input in his ongoing role as non-executive director."

"I am also delighted to be welcoming someone of James' calibre and expertise to the Company. James' extensive experience in mine production and expansion as well as his experience in Africa make him particularly qualified to contribute to London Mining's next stage of growth. Operations and construction at Marampa continue to run according to plan and we remain fully funded to achieve our near term targeted production expansion to 5Mtpa from this first phase."

Luciano Ramos said: "I am very happy with the achievements we have accomplished for London Mining, and am very confident that Jim and the great team we have built will deliver London Mining's substantial growth plans. I would like to thank Graeme Hossie, the board of directors and all the team for their full support during these five intense and rewarding years."

James North said: "I am delighted to join London Mining and look forward to working with Graeme and his team as the Company continues to execute its clear strategic plan and develop its world-class assets."
