    TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

    New Star RBC Hedge 250 Index Exchange Traded Securities PCC Limited (the "Company") announces that on 14 May 2008 it purchased the
number of shares at the prices set out below; the resulting share capital per class is also set out in the table below

     All shares repurchased on 14th May 2008 will be held in treasury with the exception of 165,000 3X US$ Repurchased Shares.

    The Company simultaneously cancelled 150,000 3X US$ Shares held in treasury.

    All shareholders have equal voting rights based on the number of shares held. Accordingly, the total number of voting rights in the
Company is 215,098,229 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if
they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency
Rules.
