                            Update on possible Offer


Further to the announcement made on 2 April 2003 of the approach from NWD Group
plc regarding a possible offer for the Company, the Board of Hansard has now
entered preliminary discussions with a third party. The discussions with NWD
Group plc are ongoing and either discussions may or may not lead to an offer for
the entire issued share capital of Hansard.

A further announcement will be made in due course.
