Pursuant to Transitional Provision 8 relating to the Disclosure and Transparency
Rules, Carpetright plc ("the Company") confirms that it had received the
following notifications under Transitional Provision 7 by 20 March 2007:

Subsequent to 20 March a further notification was received from Harris
Associates confirming an interest in 4,151,108 shares (6.1%) which was
