              APPOINTMENT OF FINANCE DIRECTOR
                             
Clipper  Ventures,  the  AIM listed  Round-the-World  yacht
racing  and  branded sailing event company, is  pleased  to
announce  that  Tim  Cowper  has  been  appointed   Finance
Director for the Group.

Tim Cowper, ACA, AMCT, aged 35, has joined Clipper Ventures
from  Sterilox Technologies Inc., where he has worked since
1997.  Tim  graduated in economics from Sussex  University,
before working with Ernst & Young for five years. Prior  to
joining Sterilox he held various financial positions within
Celltech  Group  Plc, rising to Financial  Controller.  His
work  has  shown  an  excellent record  of  developing  and
managing change in international, public and private groups
of companies.

Sir   Robin   Knox-Johnston,  Clipper  Venture's  Chairman,
commented:

'Clipper Ventures has developed rapidly over the past  year
and  is  now a more complex business, trading through  four
operating  divisions and with a total fleet of twenty-eight
boats.   The  appointment of a Finance Director  is  a  new
Board  appointment for Clipper Ventures and forms  part  of
our  plans for developing the management team in  order  to
take  advantage of the excellent opportunities for  growth.
Tim Cowper joins us at an exciting time and will contribute

About Clipper Ventures

Clipper  Ventures  has four principal operating  divisions.
The  Events Division organises the biennial Clipper  round-
the-world races which, historically, generated the bulk  of
Clipper's revenues. Clipper '98 started in October 1998 and
finished in August 1999. The next round-the-world race, The
Times  Clipper 2000 starts from Portsmouth in October 2000.
The Corporate Sailing Division commenced operations earlier
in  1999 and offers corporate charters, racing and training
services.   It  has recently added a fleet of  RIBs  (rigid
inflatable  boats)  to  its charter activities.   The  Boat
Distribution  Division will shortly commence importing  and
distributing  Gemini RIBs from South Africa.  The  Clothing
Division  sources, markets and distributes Clipper  branded
yachting and leisure wear.
