                            PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES



The board of The Cardiff Property plc announces that the company has purchased
7,500 of its own ordinary shares of 20p each, 5,000 at #4.98 per share on 4
July 2001 and 2,500 at #4.98 on 5 July 2001. These shares will be cancelled.
