PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Computacenter plc announces that on 8 October 2002, it purchased for
cancellation 420,000 ordinary shares of Computacenter plc, representing 0.23% of
Computacenter's issued share capital, at an average price of approximately
214.977p per ordinary share. The highest price paid was 215.215p and the lowest
price was 214.785p per ordinary share. Upon the cancellation of these shares,
the number of Computacenter shares in issue will be 185,091,935.
