                          Transactions in MBFG shares


Burani Designer Holding N.V. ("BDH") announces that on 11 January 2008 it sold
280,000 shares in Mariella Burani Fashion Group ("MBFG") shares to a financial
intermediary ("the Counterparty") at a price of Euro16.50 per share for a total
consideration of Euro4,620,000. On the same day, BDH simultaneously entered into a
linked put and call option agreement with the Counterparty over 280,000 MBFG
shares for a period up to 30 April 2008, pursuant to which BDH will maintain for
that period an economic exposure to increases or decreases in the MBFG share
price.

Since its IPO in June 2007, BDH has made net purchases of 1,913,582 MBFG shares,
for a net consideration of Euro39.4m, taking its ownership from 52.8% to 59.2% of
MBFG's outstanding share capital. The current market value of the stake is
approximately Euro292m, based on MBFG's closing share price of Euro16.51 as at 11
January 2008.

In addition to its direct stake of 59.2%, BDH has synthetic exposure through
total return swaps of up to 6.2%.
