Barclays Wealth, a unit of Barclays PLC (BCS), recently hired Marty Courage from J.P Morgan Chase & Co. (JPM) as branch manager of its Boston office.

Courage, who will also hold a managing director title, will report to Jack Petersen, head of Barclays Wealth, Americas, and locally to John White, head of capital markets - Boston for Barclays Capital.

Before joining Barclays, Courage worked at J.P. Morgan Private Wealth Management, where he served as head of the Boston, New England market. Previously, he was a regional investments executive at Bank of America Corp.'s (BAC) Investment Services unit for nearly three years.

Barclays Wealth has hired 46 investment representatives in 2009 and plans to add up to 200 over the next four years to expand its wealth management business in the Americas.
